FFA Competes At District LDE's

8 State Qualifiers to Compete at State Convention in April

The Freeman FFA Chapter traveled to Southeast Community College in Beatrice to participate in the district Leadership Development Events and Junior High Quiz Bowl competition on January 30th.  The results from the day's events are below:

-Kaitlyn Otto-District Champion-Jr Public Speaking-State Qualifier
-Ashley Parde-District Champion-Sr Public Speaking-State Qualifier
-Logan Anderson-District Champion-Natural Resources Speaking-State Qualifier
-Trevor Parde-District Champion-Ag Literacy Speaking-State Qualifier
-Grace VanEngen-District Champion-Discovery Speaking-State Qualifier
-Ag Demo-District Champion-Abby Mason, Lyndsey Ehmen, Blake Kastanek-State Qualifier
-Brylie Hartwig-District Runner-Up-Natural Resources Speaking-State Qualifier
-Ian Alberts-District Runner-Up-Discovery Speaking-State Qualifier
-Taylor Anderson-4th Place Purple-Creed Speaking
-Sadie Larkins-4th Place Purple-Discovery Speaking
-Caleigh Behrens-Blue Ribbon-Job Interview
-RaeAnn Hartwig-Blue Ribbon-Jr Public Speaking
-Brooklyn Ideus-Red Ribbon-Creed Speaking
-Jacob Neil-Red Ribbon-Extemp Speaking

-Jr High Quiz Bowl-3rd and 4th Place Teams

"I am proud of each of these students for the amount of time and preparation they put in to their events for districts," said Mr. Jensen, FFA advisor.  "It takes some courage and a willingness to step out of your comfort zone to do any form of public speaking, and I believe this type of experience can only enhance their futures."
