Book Madness

Mrs. Andreasen’s second grade class and Ms. Niles’ class took part of Book Madness.  A bracket of 16 books they have read this year began the madness.  Students voted weekly on their favorite books.  This activity created some great conversations about what they learned and liked about the books.  Students also did a great job making connections to the books they have read.  Our classrooms were buzzing with excitement each week to see which books moved on.

The final two books were Click Clack Moo: Cows that Type and Helen Keller.  The champion of Book Madness was Helen Keller.  Students liked hearing about Helen Keller’s life especially how she overcame many difficulties.  They liked how she didn’t give up and chose to work hard to be successful in life.
