ECNC Art Workshop
Art Clinic was held at UNL East Campus Recruiting Center this year. Students that participated were Anna Abbott, Megan Timms, Paige Helmink, Addison Hestermann, Abigail Braden and Camryn Beebe. This was a full day of activities starting with a fused glass workshop, where each student created their own piece of art. We then browsed galleries and museums to inspire us creativly. We went to the Sheldon Art Museum and viewed their new collections with old collections of paintings, photographs and sculptures. Next we went to the Haymarket to look art at the Burkholder Project. Burkholder is a locally owned gallery where artists pay for space to create work and they also hold shows for artists in the area. Many students love the variety it offers and become inspired to try new techniques. Our last visit was at the Noyes art gallery which is a gallery that is very small but offers so many varieties of media. We were very lucky to have one of the artist show us thru the gallery and talk to us about the works and also his woodworking. The owner of the gallery gave the students a opportunity to critique her own works of art.
