Playaway Titles in the Media Center

What are Playaway Titles? Playaway Titles are also called "The All-In-One Audiobook."  Freeman Public School Community Media Center has recently added Playaway titles to its collection.  An all-in-one product, Playaway is a highly portable, easy-to-use player that comes with an entire audiobook already on it. It is about the size of a half a deck of cards and holds a whole audio book on it.  Playaway was designed with a universal headphone jack to work with almost any type of headphones, speakers or car adaptors.  We feel it gives ease to our busy patrons that still want to enjoy literature.  Here are some simple facts about Playaway titles.

  • Simple: 5 narration speeds so you can listen at your own pace; automatic bookmarking remembers when you took a break.
  • Portable: Weighs only 2 ounces; equipped with a universal jack—listen in the car or with any type of headphone.
  • Durable: No screen to scratch; made for the library with circulation in mind.

When you check one out from the Media Center, get a AAA battery that is included to run it, and a week before you need to return it.  If you need a set of earbud headphones to listen, you can purchase them for $0.50 from the library.
