Freeman Elementary Students Using Website for Math

Fifth and Sixth Graders Using IXL.COM

New to Freeman elementary students this year is the website ixl.com. This website is a comprehensive, standards-aligned source for Math and Language Arts practice. Students in the fifth and sixth grade have been using this site to practice Nebraska Math standards. The website allows students the opportunity to further practice Nebraska state standards after completing each chapter in their textbook. The website provides dozens of Math problems for each standard, and uses a “smart score” and rewards to motivate the students to answer correctly. Students also benefit from the website as it explains why incorrect answers are wrong, and what the correct answer should have been. So far this year, the fifth and sixth grade students have worked on thousands of Math and Language Arts problems. This website will not only help the students during their Math classes, but will also be used as a review tool prior to the Nebraska State Assessments in the Spring of 2016. This website can be used both at school and at home. Students have their own login and passwords for the site.
