The Superintendent's Perspective

Community is one of the key factors to the success of any school district.  An important part of my job as the Superintendent of Freeman Public Schools is to have positive and open relationships with our communities and our community leaders.  In rural Nebraska the success of our schools and communities are very much linked to each other.  Certainly each entity operates independently, however many of the functions we engage in depend on the support of the other for success.  Being involved in our communities is one of the aspects of my job that I enjoy tremendously.  I know that I am a product not only of the school that I attended, but also of the community I grew up in, and people who helped me and modeled for me the effort it takes and the level of caring it takes to build and promote a successful environment.

This weekend is Community Days in Adams and I hope to see many of you out and about at the many activities that will surround this event.  Please feel comfortable to talk to me about any aspect that relates to Freeman Public Schools as I will be happy to share with you what I know.  There are great things going on in our school as there are great things going on in our communities, what a fantastic time to take a few days and show our pride and interest in the places we live, raise our families, and call our home.  It has always been my opinion that the times and events of my life have been as much defined by the people I have shared my experiences with as by the events and experiences themselves.

I take great pride in my work as the Superintendent of your school system and in being a part of our communities that surround our school system.  We work together for the common good and to provide the best for all children.  What a great task we have before us, I know together we will find great success.
