Freeman Girls Track Team Wins Friend Invite

The Freeman girls' track team came home from the Friend Invitational as the meet champions.  The Lady Falcons scored 88 points on their way to victory.  This meet gives us a chance to see some teams we don't normally see, such as second place finisher Cross County, who scored 78 points, and third place East Butler who scored 62 points.  Scoring 18 points in the shot put by finishing first (Alaina Huls) and second (Elizabeth Nelson)  really helped the team points and got us off to a great start.  Another big points event for the Lady Falcons was the 3200 meter run where Freeman went second (Lauren Parde) and third (Marissa Waters) and picked up 14 points.  Taylor Sugden was our only other event winner when she squeezed out a very close photo finish to win the 200 meter dash.  Next week will be a big week for the Lady Falcons with a meet at Conestoga next Tuesday followed by the ECNC conference meet at Yutan the following Saturday.  Individual results for Freeman were as follows:

100 Meter Dash:   3rd place, Tori Bredvick,13.4

200 Meter Dash:  1st place, Taylor Sugden, 27.9

400 Meter Run:  5th place, Tori Bredvick, 65.9

800 Meter Run:  4th place, Emily Lenners, 2:45.3

1600 Meter Run:  3rd place, Alexis Holland, 6:15.3

3200 Meter Run:  2nd place, Lauren Parde, 13:38; 3rd place, Marissa Waters, 13:49

400 Meter Relay:  1st place, Jessica Benton, Taylor Sugden, Tori Bredvick, Cassidy Mason, 53.8

1600 Meter Relay:  1st place, Tori Buhr, Cassidy Mason, Tori Bredvick, and Taylor Sugden, 4:28.0

3200 Meter Relay:  3rd place, Cassidy Mason, Jessica Larkins, Alexis Holland, and Emily Lenners, 10:54.9

Long Jump:  5th place, Marissa Haynes, 15' 4"

Shot Put:  1st place, Alaina Huls, 36' 2"; 2nd place, Elizabeth Nelson, 35' 2"
