Freeman Students Attend Robotics Workshop

On Wednesday, February 13, the TECHS and Pre-Architecture classes attended the Robotics Workshop at SCC Lincoln. During the one-day hands-on workshop, the students built and tested a Vex Robotics Kit. In the morning, they built a prototype with the help of a manual. In the afternoon each group modified the robots to demonstrate creativity and problem-solving skills.

The students also learned about the Electronic Systems Technology department at SCC. With a two-year degree, many students have a wide variety of options available through the program. The last graduating class had 10 students with 308 job openings available. The starting pay can be as high as $50-60,000!

A special “Thank You” goes to Bob Redler for facilitating workshop for the Freeman students.
