Eight Events Medal at Auburn Speech Invite

The Freeman Speech Team had a partial team compete in fifteen events at the Auburn Invitational Speech Meet on Saturday, February 11. Contributing to team points were the following speechers: Abbey Klein first in Humorous Prose & Duet and second in Informative, Shannon Koenig first in Duet, Lindsay Hottovy third in Humorous Prose, Blake Lenners third in Informative, Sarah Page fourth in Poetry, and Courtney Buhr fifth in Informative. Jessie Connelly also medaled as the top novice in Humorous Prose. Claire Richardson was one point away from breaking finals in Persuasive.

Ten schools competed in this meet. The sweepstakes winner was Nebraska City Lourdes, followed by Louisville, Falls City Sacred Heart and Freeman. The top two teams each take home a trophy.

The speechers will travel to Sutton for the next invitational on Saturday, February 18. The Pioneer conference meet will be held at Lewiston on Wednesday, February 22.
