Morgan Lenners Qualifies For State Track Meet

The Freeman girls track team traveled to Tri County to compete in the C2 District Track Meet.  Tri County ran away with the meet and scored 156.33 points.  Wilber-Claytonia was second with 82.5 points.  Meridian scored 65 points to finish in third place.  The Freeman girls scored 47 points and finished fifth in the the nine team meet behind Thayer-Central who was fourth with 55 points.

Morgan Lenners was the lone qualifier for the Freeman Falcons.  She placed 2nd in both the 800 and 1600 in order to qualify for the State Meet. We had a really tough district and Morgan was running against some of the toughest runners in the state.  This should really help her as we get ready to compete next weekend.  Right now, it looks like Morgan will enter the state meet in the 5th position in the 800 and the sixth position in the mile.  Both of Morgan's events will be run on Saturday, May 2st.  The 800 meter run is the first event of the day and is scheduled for 9:30 am.  The 1600 meter run will be the first event after the break and is scheduled for 2:00 pm.

The Freeman girls had a successful track season and every member of the team worked hard and improved in their events.  The entire team will be back next year so we have a lot of things to look forward to in the coming season.  Individual results from the District Track Meet were as follows:
